Top Food brands, fast growing company (acquisitions and organic) searching for a top tier Wal-Mart Category Manager. Will report to Wal-Mart VP who wants a category leader, a person who has experience as an advisor and is also a strategic thinker. This star will craft consumer insights, assess best practices, share search & reapply opportunities and work closely with the sales directors and headquarters to positively impact the business plans by helping to improve sales fundamentals (distribution, etc). This leader needs to see the big picture, make fact based decisions (outstanding data and analytical skills are key), and have the executive presence to wow “C” level when presenting ideas and plans to the senior executives. Company has a strong history of promoting team players who make an impact on the business in place (several current Wal-Mart team members have been promoted multiple times in the NWA office). HQ looks to this role as an industry thought leader, the team looks to this role as the category management expert, and the customer looks to this role as a new idea generator. You need to deliver the prospace and analytical executions with excellence while creating the ideas of the future and telling the story so that the team follows. Lean organization so need hands on + thought leader + team player (great team environment, mentoring). Direct reports, promotions, etc are on the horizon for the successful candidate.
