Job Description & Other Information

Supports achievement of Wal*Mart category goals and successful execution of retailer strategies through use of POS data (Retail Link), syndicated data and consumer information.  Supports Category Advisor in implementation of Wal*Mart’s shelving and distribution plans (Modular Relay and Updates) and merchandising plans (COMAC scripts) as well as evaluation of promotional effectiveness (sell-through analysis). Works with Advisor Team to produce weekly reports and analyses on category and/or brand.Supports Category Advisor in education of Wal*Mart and corporate management on the appropriate application and interpretation of available data and consumer information. 

 Qualifications and Experience: 

• BS/BA required
• Some work experience preferred; experience in Consumer Packaged Goods or Retail Grocery beneficial but not required
• Analytical aptitude including ability to develop sound insights across multiple data sources (POS, syndicated scanner and panel databases, custom consumer studies, proprietary shipment and financial reports)
• Ability to excel under pressure in a team-based environment with high level personal commitment to exceeding expectations
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks/projects while delivering results and meeting deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Powerpoint) required
• Experience utilizing POS and syndicated data/tools (e.g. Retail Link/Shiloh, ACNielsen/Nitro, IRI/Analyzer) preferred  
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Access and space management software (ProSpace, Apollo) preferred
